THE PROGRAM
Our fun and exciting, 5-day, hands-on C.S.I. Summer Academy™ is designed
to educate children and teens, between the ages of 6 and 17 years, in forensic
science and criminal investigations while encouraging them to
use deductive reasoning, apply creative thinking, and develop
problem-solving skills.
Kids will work together in the following age-appropriate groups.
The curriculum and activities are designed and developed for
each specific age group.

The C.S.I. Summer Academy offers

Our C.S.I. Academy provides an exciting opportunity for kids to
explore professional careers in forensic science,
anthropology, archaeology, prosecutorial law, and law enforcement.

THE CURRICULUM
The curriculum of the C.S.I. Summer
Academy focuses on teaching students both:

The hands-on, practical methods and techniques
used in real criminal investigations
-
The fundamental building blocks of conducting
science experiments and using evidence to support ideas, hypotheses and
theories.
This fun and amazing educational experience
is not just about learn forensics science and solving crimes, but also designed to
maximize and instill:
Monday – Thursday Schedule
From Monday through Thursday each day’s curriculum will be centered
around a particular theme and will teach a different set of methods
and skills used in forensic science investigations.
Kids will learn to manage an investigation by performing the diverse
duties and responsibilities of forensic scientists, crime scene
technicians, detectives, and prosecutors.
Students will be taught how to:

Secure and evaluate a crime scene

Collect and package physical evidence

Scientifically examine physical evidence in a mock
crime lab

Interview and interrogate suspects

Present their findings, observations, and theories
Friday Schedule
The culmination of the week’s events will take place on Friday at
the C.S.I. Summer Academy
Challenge. At this
fun, unparalleled and absolutely unforgettable event, the kids will get the chance to use all of the methods and
skills they learned during the week to compete in teams against fellow
academy members in solving a simulated crime filled with all types of
evidence.
Please note that a different crime
setting is developed for each of the three age groups, so the material
presented is appropriate for the learn skills and maturity level of
each kid.
First, teams are
provided with an entertaining, yet scientifically and historically
accurate, fictional mystery scenario riddled with subtle clues.
Then they are presented with a simulated crime scene containing
actual physical evidence (fingerprints, hair, fibers, and documents).
Each team will be responsible for conducting a full
investigation of the crime and crime scene – from collecting initial
field evidence to presenting their findings in a mock-court of law.
Teams will be presented with awards related to different aspects of
their investigation.

ACADEMY TUITION
$195.00
per session, per child.
ACADEMY SUPERVISION
Each group will be fully supervised
by our highly qualified staff, comprised of experts with backgrounds
in law enforcement (police officers), forensics (forensic scientists),
criminal investigation (detectives), anthropology and archaeology,
education (NYS certified teachers, administrators, and professors),
and law (criminal lawyers).
All staff members are carefully screened through a
rigorous application process. Our
staff is fully committed to providing a safe, exciting, engaging, and unforgettable
